Meadow and Woods Landscape Design

For this meadow-inspired garden, we were given a large site with one existing redwood and one cedar tree, both of which happen to be magnificently huge. It was agreed with the client to create a sense of a naturalistic meadow breaking out from the rest of the forest for the landscape design. We used gold gravel to brighten up the shadowy feel of the woods and added a dry steambed, a seating area, pathways, and a salvage sculpture. As the home landscaping plan developed, we blended these elements with grasses, conifers, and woodland shrubs. The garden landscaping’s main composition is mostly greens with occasional bursts of floral colors – strong red, white, and purple. Low maintenance.
