Mill Valley, Bay Area Landscaping
This Mill Valley landscape garden is a fusion of Japanese and English woodland themes. We were met with challenges on the half-acre site including a steep wild hillside and strong deer presence. We decided to fence in half of the property and terraced it with winding moss rock walls.
We then developed the remainder of the land to create landscaped gardens for both humans and deer to enjoy. Our team planted large grasses and herbs, shrubs, and perennials around a cozy patio at the center.
In the fenced area under Japanese maples, dogwoods, native bays and redwoods, we planted native huckleberry, flowering currant, manzanita, and other naturalistic woodland shrubs and perennials to create a harmonious tapestry of greens, with paths and patios winding throughout for leisure walks around the landscape gardens.
